Seventeen S&H as a CV shift register

Seventeen Sample & Holds in this picture

I tend to title my pieces by some description of how they are made. For this one I patched seventeen analog sample and holds in series, each sampling the output of the previous one, and clocking them alternately, each one having the clock inverted from the previous one.

Green and blue are the opposing clocks

The red and yellow traces on the scope represent the first and last sample. Notice how they change on the opposite clock (because of the odd number of S&H). The first S&H samples noise.

I set up four voices of VCO -> EG/VCA – Mix -> Effects. The voices are mixed in pairs through a Klavis Mixwitch. The mute button on the Mixwitch is really handy for manually gating the voice mix. The outputs of the two Mixwitch channels feed Data Bender and from Data Bender to White Rabbit in delay mode. The earlier recording is just this patch. Later I added CV over three Data Bender parameters, and routed the result to two effects, stereo cross-faded with 3DVCA.
