Photo of the patch

This patch started out with a meditation on how to make four LFOs (Beast-Tek Double Dragon and two Make Noise Functions) modulate each other using switching. Essentially the four LFO outs are patched into four switches and the output of each switch output controls the rate of an LFO. The switches are controlled by seven gates coming out of the Ritual Electronics Amnis shift register. Thus, each LFO gets modulated by one of the four (including possibly itself) at any given time.

Joranalogue Audio Orbit 3 Double-Scroll Chaos Oscillator has two outputs driving the Joranalogue Compare 2 Dual Window Comparator. The four logic outputs from Compare 2 each control the Hold input on an LFO. So the LFOs stop and hold occasionally.

Three Orbit 3 outputs control parameters on Just Friends, used as the sole oscillator, set for harmonic ratios of the tones. The Equilibrium Endpoint Output on Orbit 3 is used as the clock input for the shift register.

Four tones from Just Friends go to Plum Audio ARBA quad VCA with each VCA gated by one of the four LFOs, which are making envelope shapes. The four signals are mixed to stereo and sent through Data Bender and then a reverb from FX Aid Pro.

Here are two recordings plus a video.
