Tesseract Modular DABS

Dual A/B Switch

DABS is a quad DPDT manual switch. It’s as simple as that! Double Pole means two separate switches. Double Throw means two positions. DABS uses center-off switches, so that it can be uses as a mute.

This incredibly simple idea has several usages.

Assembly

Lucky me! I happened to have just 24 Thonkiconn jacks left over from a bulk purchase.

I only needed to order the four switches from Mouser. These are Dailywell Toggle Switches DPDT ON-OFF-ON PC2MD3T1B1M2QES. Mouser part number 118-2MD3T1B1M2QES.

The panel is reversible, left to right, so you can decide which side you want to have the switches.

Switches on right side

All you have to do is mount the jacks and switches on the PCB, install the panel, and solder. I chose to put the switches on the right side. I also put small, black nuts on the IN/OUT jacks, which are nearer to the switches than the A and B jacks.
