Sounds for Circling the Drain

The Patch

I’ll be playing at a local event, The Cesspool of Synths, on July 4th. The patch I’ll be using is pictured above, which uses my Ieaskul F. Mobenthey rack together with my new effects rack. The FX rack contains four effects: a uBurst Clouds clone, a Happy Nerding FX AID XL, a Make Noise Mimeophon, and an Erica Synths Black Stereo Delay. I’ve patched up three enveloped sounds in the IFM rack. These go through the Tesseract Modular 8×8 Buffered Matrix, enabling me to manually switch the inputs of the four effects to any of the three sounds. The stereo outputs of the effects are mixed in a Happy Nerding 4x Stereo mix and are processed through River Marble before being sent out.

Yes, that’s the Sound Machines Brainterface mind to CV module there in the photo. I’ll be using that too.

Here are a couple of trial recordings for sounds I’m cooking up for use in my improvisation. The first track is an oscillator getting random pitch CV, going through the Sprott low pass filter and then through the Black Delay.

This second track uses three different sounds going through three different effects.
