Inside of finished power supply panel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I built this power supply for an upcoming Eurorack project (TBA) that will be rack mounted. I used the same Tiptop Audio Zeus Studio Bus<\/a> supply as the one I put into a skiff<\/a> some years ago. The project will be a 3U 84hp system with ten modules. It will mount in the front of a 19-inch rack with this supply mounted at the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laying out the supply PCB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I used painters tape to hold the board in place while I marked the positions of the mounting holes. The board is fastened using nine #6 threaded metal standoffs and 18 #6 x 0.25 inch machine screws. The standoffs are Mouser #534-1922A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positioning the power inlet, switch, and ground banana jack.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Only three parts were needed, as shown in the above photo. The big toggle switch (Mouser #633-S2A) is way overrated for the voltage and current needs, but I wanted a large bat handle, easy to reach behind the rack cabinet. Power inlet is Mouser #502-721A<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The small amount of wiring was simplified by the spring loaded connectors on the Zeus. The Zeus has four ground and two +15V input positions. These can be used to simplify distribution when multiple Zeus Studio Bus supplies are used together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
