Another SynthCube sale, another DIY kit! I discovered Marble<\/a>, by River Creative Technology a while back, watched the demo video on their site and kept it in mind. Then I saw a manufacturer’s kit for it on Synthcube. This is one of the easiest kit’s in Eurorack DIY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does it do? It is a stereo tone control with CV. Marble is based around the concept of spectral tilting. A single knob allows you to tilt the frequency spectrum of an input signal around a fixed point: boosting low frequencies while dampening the high or vice versa. The slope of this tilting curve is special too, it approaches 3db\/octave at maximum. Each channel can be switched between spectral tilt and mid-range bell equalization. It also features variable feedback with soft saturation. You can make it scream or growl if you want to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I plan to start using Marble as a final stage before leaving the modular. But I will also experiment with using it internally to a patch as an effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kit contents (shown above) consist of the panel, PC board with all SMD parts already soldered, and a bag of panel parts: jacks, pots, switches, and knobs. Two light pipes are used to bring the LED saturation lights out through the panel. The LEDs are SMD! The only missing thing in this kit is a power cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
